
This course is a health & safety program for people working in the telecommunications industry. The course is part of the safety, health and environmental (SHEA) suite.
The EUSR SHEA Telecommunications Course includes all material from the EUSR SHEA Core qualification, plus an additional, telecommunications specific module.
The modules
Module 1 - Understanding our workplace responsibilities:
Begins with covering the safety legislation that applies to the sector, which focuses on the learner's responsibility to keep their own work environment, colleagues, and the wider public safe.
Module 2 - Understanding the effects of our work on the environment:
This module aims to enhance delegate's environmental awareness and overall understanding of sustainability.
Module 3 - Identifying and controlling risks:
This module visits how to identify workplace risks, how to mitigate them to keep the work environment safe and compliant.
Module 4 - Common hazards in the workplace:
This module explores common physical hazards in the workplace and the steps that can be taken to control these.
Module 5 - Occupational health hazards:
This module demonstrates to learner's how to identify common occupational health hazards and reduce the risk they pose.
Module 6 - Responding to emergencies:
This module teaches learner's the correct emergency procedures to follow and actions to take should a workplace emergency occur.
Module 17 - Working safely underground, in the highway, and overhead:
This is a unique module and covers the correct regulations that governs work near public roads, safe practices for working in and around excavations, both underground and overhead as well as cabling and working with poles.
This module also covers hazard control measures and emergency response procedures for these specific telecommunications work environments.

Upon successful completion of the course, individual's will receive a SHEA EUSR registration and a SHEA telecoms smart card. This card is essential for accessing regulated operational sites within the telecommunications sector. The registration is valid for three years. A virtual card via the Vircarda app will also be available.

This course is essential for those working on or near telecom networks, as it provides the necessary knowledge to operate safely within these environment's
The course covers topics such as risk assessment, safe working practices, environmental protection and responsibilities when working on telecom networks, including the fibre and broadband infrastructure.
